Whitebait net

Native fish avoid the public spotlight by being secretive and nocturnal. Half of our fish species spend time at sea, which means they need unimpeded passage to get to their freshwater habitats. Native fish habitat is shrinking as wetlands are drained, streamside vegetation removed and barriers to fish passage placed in waterways.
